Hello friends!
Thank you for being here and for supporting Whispers of Kith and Kin. As I look back over the last few weeks, I’m still humbled by how many of you picked up the story and gave a new author a chance. Your kindness, your messages, and your willingness to share the book with friends have encouraged me in ways you may not realize.
If you have finished reading, would you consider leaving a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads? Even a few lines make a genuine difference in helping new readers find the story. I am grateful for every single one. (See links below)
Book Signing Highlights
The recent book signings were such a sweet time. I loved seeing familiar faces walk through the door and meeting readers for the first time. It was exciting to catch up with friends and visit for a while. Meeting new readers and getting to know you added so much joy to the day. Thank you for showing up, chatting, laughing, and making the events such a pleasure to be part of.
I’ll be pausing the signings for a bit because a new grandbaby girl is arriving later this month! The next signing will be February 7 at The Kentucky Bookstore in Lawrenceburg.
Writing Update: Whispers of the Blessed
Book two is moving steadily forward. I’m about eighty percent through the first draft, and the characters are leading me into places I didn’t originally plan but somehow work. The story deepens the themes of faith, integrity, and forgiveness, and how past choices, secrets, and relationships shape the present. I cannot wait to share more soon.
As many of you know, the plot revolves around a curse. But instead of Whispers of the Cursed, I chose to call it Whispers of the Blessed because as Christians that is part of our identity. Psalm 115:12 tells us: The Lord has remembered us; He will bless us.
And that truth alone changes the way we approach everything in our lives.
When Scripture says He “remembers” us, it means:
- He is acting according to His character and His sovereignty, bringing His promises into our present need.
- He is stepping into our situation in faithfulness, just as He did for Noah, Abraham, David, Hannah…really, it’s a long list and one that’s continually growing.
- He is moving toward us with the same mercy He has shown through every generation of those who have called upon His name.
- He is taking up our cause, as He did for His people when He “remembered” His covenant in Exodus. He sees what we face, He knows what we carry, and He acts out of His covenant love.
When we remember (and believe) that this is the kind of God we serve, it changes us. It should anchor our hearts when circumstances shift and steady our thinking when worry tries to take over. It pulls our focus back to His character instead of our uncertainty. When we remember who He is—good, faithful, unchanging—gratitude grows naturally. It becomes less about our situation and more about the God who is present in it.
Gratitude becomes our response to a God who never forgets His people.
A Prayer for This Season
My prayer for you this season is that this truth settles into your heart—that the God who remembers you also carries you, leads you, and surrounds you with His care. May your heart find rest in the steadiness of His goodness. And may you feel the comfort of knowing that you are remembered, you are blessed, you are held and loved, even if the holidays bring a mix of joy and challenge.
Blessed to Be a Blessing
One final thought I’d like to leave you with—a gentle challenge for the days ahead: as we rest in the truth that He remembers us and blesses us, let’s never forget that we are blessed to be a blessing. As you move through this season, let His grace guide the small choices—how you speak, the way you listen and show kindness, how you make room for those who need it, and the way you care for the ones He brings across your path.

With a grateful heart,
~~ Kaye
