Autumn palette and motifs for Whispers of Kith and Kin cover—warm tones, hint of mystery

A lot has happened over the past few weeks, and I’m excited to share some updates! My amazing Beta readers have finished their feedback, and I’m thrilled (and more than a little bit relieved) to report that it’s all been positive—no bribing involved, I promise!

I’ve decided that Whispers of Kith and Kin will launch in mid-September 2025, which means there’s plenty to do between now and then. First up is securing the copyright for the Fern and Fable logo that Rachel so beautifully designed.

After that, it’s on to professional editing. For those unfamiliar, a Developmental Editor helps refine the story as a whole, looking at the big picture—plot, pacing, character development, and structure. Then, the Line Editor steps in, polishing the language and flow, making sure each sentence shines. Finally, we’ll wrap up with proofreading to catch any last-minute typos and formatting to ensure everything looks great on the page.

While the manuscript is in the hands of these skilled editors, I’ll be working with a professional designer for the cover. Since much of the story takes place in the fall, I’m imagining a design that reflects that season—think warm tones and a hint of mystery. Lots to come!

I couldn’t have made it this far without the support of my readers, so thank you for your encouragement and excitement along the way. Stay tuned for more updates as Whispers of Kith and Kin comes to life—I’m so grateful to have you on this journey with me!
